We do not offer a warranty on our jewelry. However, we stand behind the quality of our products, which are made to last for a lifetime.

Authenticity & Artistry

Are all the pieces on your website made by Native American artists?

Yes, all of our jewelry is made by either Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, or Santo Domingo artists with close ties to tribal traditions and jewelry-making techniques.

How do you source your jewelry?

We maintain close ties to the Indigenous jewelry-making community within the Southwest and handpick each piece to ensure its quality and authenticity.

What is the difference between Zuni, Hopi, and Navajo jewelry?

  • Zuni Jewelry: Zuni jewelry is sought after for its intricate inlay work, which is made by fitting various gemstones into a sterling silver setting to form a geometric pattern or an image.
  • Hopi Jewelry: Hopi jewelry is known for its beautiful sterling silver overlays, which are created by layering a hand-cut sheet of silver over an oxidized silver background to form a striking contrast.
  • Navajo Jewelry: Navajo jewelry is characterized by its use of turquoise and sterling silver, as well as its intricate hand-stamped patterns.

How can I make sure that I'm purchasing ethically made Native American jewelry?

The best way to ensure an ethical purchase is to buy from a reputable source that provides verifiable information on its jewelry makers. Native American jewelry vendors that do not share the names of the artists behind their pieces should be avoided.

How can I tell if my turquoise jewelry is genuine?

If your turquoise is genuine, it will likely contain color variation and a matrix, which is a web-like pattern that is usually dark in color. Fake turquoise may have a buildup of dye in its cracks and tends to scratch easily. Fake turquoise made from plastic will melt when probed with a hot needle.

Materials & Maintenance

What is Native American jewelry made from?

Native American jewelry is made from a variety of materials, including sterling silver, turquoise, coral, spiny oyster, and other semi-precious stones. Each of our Native American pieces features intricate silverwork and is made by a skilled artisan.

How can I care for my Native American jewelry?

To keep your jewelry in good condition, we recommend cleaning it gently with a soft cloth. Avoid exposing your jewelry to harsh chemicals, lotions, soaps, and perfumes that could damage its finish. You should also remove your jewelry before swimming or engaging in physical activity. We recommend storing it in a cool, dry place when you are done wearing it.

Is SilverTQ’s jewelry designed for daily wear?

Yes, our jewelry pieces are made from high-quality, durable materials suited to everyday wear. However, their longevity is dependent on the effort you invest in maintaining their original condition. With the right care, your jewelry will remain beautiful for years to come.

Is your jewelry waterproof?

No, our jewelry is not waterproof. Exposure to water can cause our sterling silver pieces to tarnish and damage stone settings. It's best to remove your jewelry before engaging in water-related activities.
